Ingredients
  • 1 lb ground meat of your choice
  • 1 egg
  • ½ cup breadcrumbs (or crushed crackers/oats)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder or 1 clove minced garlic
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • ¼ tsp salt and a generous sprinkle of ground pepper
  • 1 jar (about 24oz) or pasta or marinara sauce
  • 8 oz pasta (elbows, spaghetti, penne, or whatever type you prefer)
  • Optional: grated parmesan cheese for topping
Directions
  1. Boil a pot of water and cook the pasta according to package directions. Drain, and set aside.
  2. In a bowl, mix the ground meat, egg, breadcrumbs, garlic, and seasonings. Roll into balls about 1 to 1 ½ inches wide.
  3. Heat a skillet with a small amount of cooking oil. Cook the meatballs on all sides until browned.
  4. Pour marinara into the skillet, cover, and let meatballs simmer in the sauce for 15-20 minutes, until cooked through.
  5. Spoon the meatballs and sauce over the pasta. Sprinkle with parmesan, if desired.
