Pasta with Meatballs
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground meat of your choice
- 1 egg
- ½ cup breadcrumbs (or crushed crackers/oats)
- 1 tsp garlic powder or 1 clove minced garlic
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- ¼ tsp salt and a generous sprinkle of ground pepper
- 1 jar (about 24oz) or pasta or marinara sauce
- 8 oz pasta (elbows, spaghetti, penne, or whatever type you prefer)
- Optional: grated parmesan cheese for topping
Directions
- Boil a pot of water and cook the pasta according to package directions. Drain, and set aside.
- In a bowl, mix the ground meat, egg, breadcrumbs, garlic, and seasonings. Roll into balls about 1 to 1 ½ inches wide.
- Heat a skillet with a small amount of cooking oil. Cook the meatballs on all sides until browned.
- Pour marinara into the skillet, cover, and let meatballs simmer in the sauce for 15-20 minutes, until cooked through.
- Spoon the meatballs and sauce over the pasta. Sprinkle with parmesan, if desired.
