Nut butters provide multiple health benefits due to its rich content of healthy fats, protein, fiber, vitamins, and minerals. The healthy fats in nut butters supports heart health by lowering cholesterol and supports brain health.

Cooking Methods

Nut butters can be used in many ways! Try stirring them into hot foods such as oatmeal, grits, or sauces. You can also use nut butters in baking. Try dipping your favorite fruit into a nut butter!

To make homemade nut butter: Roast your nut of choice at 350 degrees for 8-12 minutes. Add the nuts to a blender or food processor (recommended). Blend until smooth, this can take up to 10 minutes. If it is too thick, add 1-2 tsp peanut or almond oil or coconut oil. You can add in salt or other seasonings.

Seasonings

Nut butters pair well with cinnamon or nutmeg. They also pair well with add-ins such as fruit slices, chocolate chips, coconut, or others.

Storage & Preservation

Store homemade nut butters in a jar in the fridge. Store bought nut butters can be stored in the pantry.
