Homemade Chicken Noodle Soup
Ingredients
- 12 oz cooked chicken/1lb raw chicken/2 cups shredded chicken
- 1 package of whole grain egg noodles
- 2 - 32 oz containers of reduced sodium chicken broth
- 2 carrots
- 1 package celery
- 1 yellow onion
Directions
- Chop all vegetables into bite-sized pieces.
- Prepare chicken in any way desired. Can be baked, pan-fried, grilled, etc. Shred or cut into bite-sized pieces.
- Cook noodles according to instructions on package.
- Add vegetables, noodles, and chicken to a large pot and add both containers of chicken broth. Add extra water to the pot if more liquid is needed.
- Simmer the soup for at least 30 minutes to soften vegetables and bring out flavors before serving.
