Homemade Chicken Noodle Soup

  • 12 oz cooked chicken/1lb raw chicken/2 cups shredded chicken
  • 1 package of whole grain egg noodles
  • 2 - 32 oz containers of reduced sodium chicken broth
  • 2 carrots
  • 1 package celery
  • 1 yellow onion
  1. Chop all vegetables into bite-sized pieces.
  2. Prepare chicken in any way desired. Can be baked, pan-fried, grilled, etc. Shred or cut into bite-sized pieces.
  3. Cook noodles according to instructions on package.
  4. Add vegetables, noodles, and chicken to a large pot and add both containers of chicken broth. Add extra water to the pot if more liquid is needed.
  5. Simmer the soup for at least 30 minutes to soften vegetables and bring out flavors before serving.
