Granny Smith Grilled Cheese

  • 4 slices of bread (Sourdough works best, but you can use whatever bread you prefer)
  • 6 slices of cheese (Gouda works best, but you can use whatever cheese you prefer)
  • 1 Apple, peeled and thinly sliced (Granny Smith/Green Apple works best, but you can use whatever type you prefer)
  • Butter
  1. Heat a pan to medium-low heat, and spread butter on one side of each slice of bread. Layer three slices of cheese and a few pieces of apple in the following order: Bread, 1 ½ cheese slices, apple, 1 ½ cheese slices, bread. After layering the cheese and apples in between the bread slices with the buttered side facing out, place the sandwich in the pan. Cover with a lid.
  2. After about three minutes, flip the sandwich to brown the other side and re-cover. Cook for another two minutes. Remove from the pan and enjoy!
